Mothers Little Helper

If I don't post this now, I'll forget and this is such a cute Catherine/Hannah story, I just don't want to forget. Last week I took Isaiah up from lunch to put him down for his nap. I left Catherine in her highchair (with the tray on) and Hannah who was still finishing up her lunch. I told Hannah I would be down in 5 or 10 minutes when I would take Catherine up for her nap. After a couple of minutes I come downstairs to find Hannah and Catherine laughing and giggling underneath the coffee table. Stunned, the conversation goes something like this:

Me: Hannah, how did Catherine get down from her highchair?
Hannah: (in a "duh" voice) I took her down.
Me: How?
Hannah: I just took her tray off and got her down.
Me: Oh. (Then I notice drips of water from the bathroom to the eating room)
Me: Hannah, why is there water all over the place?
Hannah: (Sigh) I had to wash her off first so I got a cloth and wet it in the bathroom and cleaned her all up.
Me: Oh, of course.

I'd also like to point out that Hannah weighs 30 lbs as this point and Catherine I'm thinking is going on 22lbs. Quite a feat. and from that point, its quite a common sight to see Hannah "carrying" Catherine around the room....

Forward Movement

Catherine for the last month has been doing backwards movement and has been very good at getting herself under chairs, in corners, under couches and the like as she has only been able to push herself backwards on her tummy. We are now doing foward movement and officially crawling. I'm excited for her, yes, but not so much for myself. When I told her doctor that I wasn't really encouraging her on with crawling, he kindly scolded me and told me it was a necessary part of her development. I know that. I'm just not excited about the blocking off of stairs, and so forth that now will be a daily routine. But I'm very happy for her development. Although, I was never too concerned. As I write this post, we've just finished off a wonderful week of visitors with the kids Gigi, Granpa and Granmom. What a wonderful week that was and I reflect once again on how blessed not only I am, but my children are to have grandparents and great grandparents in their lives. the pictures speak 1,000 words and I'll let them do just that.

Catherine is 6 months

Sitting up. Check.
First two teeth. Check
Spoon feeing. Check.
Sleeping through the night. Check. She keeps confusing us with that one. But the good news is, the bad nights even out the good nights. And we're a little suspicious that she is storing acorns in her cheeks.
