Let's bring some updates

So in the past couple of weeks, my little boy turned 1!!!! and we're in philly for a month seeing family and friends. The kids did great on the plane on the way out here and we celebrated his birthday two days after we got into town. The below pics are from that special day. I can't believe how fast the time has gone by and it was a whole year ago that we were blessed with our little (or big) boy.

Big Girl Bed

We finally moved Hannah into a big girl bed. Not because she was climbing out of it and not because we thought she was too old for it (although many well meaning people thought she was), but was was asking for it. Sleep in a big girl bed? Over and over. She is so excited about her new bed that although she has been in it for a week now, still every morning when I get her up, she tells me that she slept in a big girl bed that night. Very sweet.

Arkansas trip

We had our first family vacation with just us and the kids last week and it was really great. We stayed at a place called Hillspeak where there are hundreds of acres of land and cottages to stay in and some neat towns/lakes very close by. The below pictures are from that trip!

getting back to speed

So the good news as to why I haven't posted in a while is because I got a new camera! Yay! I'm very excited about this camera and the pictures is has been taking. Unfortunately, I didn't think to order a new camera cord so I haven't been able to download any of the pics. I've got lots to catch up on! This first post is from the first couple of days I had the camera and was using the kids as models. I happen to think they're pretty cute models. :)

Beating the Heat

Ugh....yesterday's high, a whopping 108 degrees. Just yuck. Although I am thankful that I don't have an 8lb baby hibernating in me at least. For that, I'm grateful. :) So we're trying to beat the heat (a cold front came in last night so that today's high is only 102....brrrr.....) and do stuff very early in the morning and find AC wherever we can. Isaiah is getting so big, is starting to cruise around furniture and is annoying hannah every chance he can get. I hear the words, being said very forcefully and somewhat loud "NO THANK YOU ISAIAH" at least 20 times a day. As soon as he is making his way in her direction so tries to tell him ever so nicely that she does not wish for him to come and chuck the books/toys/etc. that she is currently playing very nicely with. I know this can not even be termed as the beginning....

ABQ trip

Whew....we have discovered that Isaiah only likes to sleep in teh car when its a 20 min drive home and we don't want him to fall asleep because it will completely negate his nap. When we're in the car for 8 hours and are planning on him napping so he's not a crying mess, he refuses. Well....it wasn't that bad. He did sleep for 30 min in the car in place of his 2 hour nap and overall the drive to ABQ went well. We had a wonderful time there though, including sopapillas, the Abq aquarium, a short mountain hike, seeing cousins, lots of green chile and of course granny and gramps. I had to be selective in the great pictures so it must have been a good time!

Steel horse

My dad is riding out to alaska for the summer and stopped by OKC for a short visit. The kids had a blast with him and enjoyed sitting on his motorcycle....hannah liked it a little too much....
